LeGrand CRM User issues

We have been trying to use LeGrand Version 5.0 for 3 months now with very little success. Compared to the previous version this is very unstable and buggy.
1) We worked with the company to install the new version and to create an empty database, except our companies and contacts. the support person exported from our old database to and excel spreadsheet and had me clean up some of the data and then import it into legrand. This worked fine until i updated from QuickBooks and found out that the previously loaded data did not have the key id with it so everything old was duplicated. I then tried for over 3 weeks to get them to assist me but they were too busy to correct their mistake. But they would be happy to sell me some support time to assist with a problem they created.

2) The transactions tab for customers is highly buggy. If you switch to a new customer the transactions for the previous customer remain on the screen. If you try to refresh to get transactions for the new customer nothing happens unless you change the type field. Only then is the new customer transactions updated. Also if you double click on a transaction you are supposed to be switched to QuickBooks and that record is supposed to be on the screen. This also does not work as you are not switched to QuickBooks and again only the very first transaction is loaded.

Again technical support is very poor and only interested if you are willing to pay. Seems to me that problems with a new version should not cost me to fix them.

    I would like to address the comments made by LeGrand. First, their assistance in cleaning up the data was to go in manually and remove duplicates. Some big help. Also I did not import the data again but ran the update feature in legrand. This is what caused the duplication and we have never run this function again as i do not want to go through and delete duplicates again.

    As for free service this is ridiculous. We paid them to assist us with the upgrade. Since the upgrade caused so many issues I thought it reasonable they assist me, without charge, until the upgrade was working properly. This also included the item tracking module which does not work period. There were also numerous screens and selections that did not work properly and were reported as errors, but they did not seem to care. Also a company that bills itself as an international software vendor should have more than 1 person in support.

    Due to these and other issues in the software we did not renew our annual license and as soon as business conditions allow will purchase a truly QuickBooks compatible application.

    Hi Perry,

    Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we apologize for the delay in posting a response to the issue. We have gone through our transaction history with this client in detail in order to provide a correct response.

    Mr. Lance Treiber evaluated Legrand CRM during 2006 and subsequently purchased Legrand CRM software v4.6 in February 2007. In May 2008 he decided to upgrade to version 5.0 and he purchased four hours of training and some professional services to assist with the upgrade to version 5.0.

    Mr. Treiber raises two issues. The first one is about the dual import of QuickBooks customer account data. Mr. Treiber did not wish to upgrade his existing v4.6 CRM data as he needed to clean up a lot of his older data. We performed a data export to Excel, performed data clean up and imported this data into a new version 5.0 database. Subsequent to this Mr. Treiber then himself imported customer accounts from QuickBooks into Legrand CRM. The QuickBooks data import created some duplication in Legrand as some of the QuickBooks customer accounts had already been imported via Excel but with some differences, e.g. similar company name but different city. We then advised Mr. Treiber on the best way to clear these duplicates, and assisted with detailed instructions on how to do this.

    Although Mr. Treiber was unhappy that some data duplication took place the data was subsequently cleaned up with our assistance.

    The second issue that Mr. Treiber raises is a display refresh issue when Legrand CRM displays transactions from the QuickBooks company file. We explained to him why this occurred and gave a simple workaround. The refresh issue was a bug in version v5.0.8 which has been fixed in a subsequent update.

    While Mr. Treiber, like all other Legrand CRM customers, has access to free email support and access to the community forum, his unhappiness appears to be about not receiving immediate and free priority support. Like the majority of software vendors Legrand Software provides priority support for a fee. There are also a number of Legrand CRM Certified Partners who can assist clients with specific issues and requirements.     More Issues with Le Grand CRM

    I have been working on importing our parts database into the new 5.0 version. What a pain in the a@@!! I have to individually select each item in our part list. There is no import all for the first time or select all, or even a select all by pages. So for over 10,000 items I have to individually click on each item. This is a basic feature in almost all windows products and seems very short sighted to me.
