Jul 2, 2009, iPhone CRM | SalesForce Adds CRM Interface for iPhone With Apple's New SDK.

Apple has officially unveiled its anticipated iPhone / iPod Touch SDK (software development kit) that will allow third parties to create applications that take full advantage of those devices’ capabilities without all the hacking.

Quick off the mark are Salesforce.com and AOL, working on productivity applications for the devices. Salesforce will be offering an iPhone-specific interface for its customer relationship manager CRM and sales tracking software for the mobile professionals, and AOL will offer a version of its ubiquitous AIM instant messaging application.

Wall Street Greed Bug Infects CRM Company

CEO Paul Johnston and CFO Parrish Jones of Entellium, a web based CRM company, were forced to resign after their notifiable disease came to light.

Rumour has it a staff member inadvertently found the reveal-all Second Set Of Books while tidying out the drawers of the former head of sales, exposing the misrepresented numbers the aforementioned used to present to the board and shareholders. Magically turnover figures of less than $4 million translated into over $15 million, convincing Ignite, who had two members on the Intellium board, to invest a further $2 million, on top of the $50 million Entellium had already managed to relieve investors of.

Hmm, wonder who the auditors were?

While "deeply shamed and sorry", Johnston was not sure where all those looted millions were.

Unfortunately the contagion had already been indirectly transmitted to the rest of the Entellium staff, resulting in a 100 layoffs. The fate of those in their Malaysian office remains undecided.

The pair have subsequently been arrested and charged with wire fraud. Jones has been released on bail but Johnston, a UK citizen, remains in custody pending his bail hearing as he is believed to pose a flight risk. They are now staring at a possible 20 years incarceration plus $250k fine.

Spare a thought for all those affected staff members and the families of the arrested, not to mention their customers.

We hope this malaise does not spread through the rest of the CRM community, but the rumour mills are buzzing..
