WORKetc is a total business management SaaS (Software as a Service), with emphasis on CRM. It combines contact management with project management, billing, and multiple other features, and compares very favorably to similar CRM's like Zoho, SalesForce and SugarCRM. It’s an all-in-one system that can be used to run all aspects of a business. It’s mainly a small business/freelancer tool (1 to 100 users), is accessible from anywhere in the world, and offers language support for 14 different languages. See WORKetc Comparison Chart..
WORKetc’s Approach:
WORK Etc CRM attempts to shine in the area that often frustrates most business management software users. As companies begin to realize the power of business management software, they tend to slowly collect more applications and add-ons to fit their company’s needs. By the time all is said and done, the company will have a list of different applications and a hefty monthly bill. These applications often don’t integrate, resulting in users doing extra work to complete simple processes (think jumping between applications to look a contact’s name up), as well as a general lack of efficiency. WORKetc attempts to tackle this problem by being an all-in-one software with all sufficient business management features under one system – creating a workflow environment that reaches a high level of efficiency.
Upon logging in, you’re greeted with the heavily customizable WORKetc dashboard. This interface summarizes important items you want to see as soon as you start your work. For example, the dashboard can summarize things like unread items, support cases, recent documents, unpaid invoices, calendars, to-dos, and projects currently being worked on. It can also be customized to include widgets that allow for quick recording of information, such as new timesheets, contact information, or product catalogs.
Emphasis on CRM:
The WORKetc CRM system is based around contacts. Considering most things you do in business management revolve around a contact (creating a project, or an invoice for example), as you can see in the screenshot below, WORKetc has a nice size list of things you can do that revolve around a contact directly from the contacts menu. The point of this is to create a workflow that makes everything easily accessible. You can expand on a contact from within the contacts menu, or click the contacts name for full information. Contacts are sorted by a variety of ways, as shown by the screenshot below.

Project Management
With WORKetc, it’s pretty simple to do whatever it is you’re doing. From basically any area of the interface setting up a project, to-do, sub-project, timesheet, or reminder is a click away. You can prioritize projects and sub projects, have quick access to deadlines and project progress, and also view detailed project information through project dependency and Gantt chart features. The billing section is pretty straight forward. It allows easy billing options and also makes sure you know what’s paid and what isn’t. There’s a ton of customization options and these all help deal with your company’s specific workflow. There’s multiple checkout options offered to customers, and also multiple currency support.

Because of the fact that WORKetc is an all in one application, the collaborative capabilities of WORKetc go past just project management. Collaboration can take place on all aspects of business, from CRM and project management to billing and help desk support. This is especially of note because studies have proven that when it comes to the work environment, the more workers can collaborate on the more motivated they are, and the better job they do.
Workflow:
Again, a benefit of the fact that WORKetc is an all in one business management software: the workflow present in this system isn’t really comparable to other applications because most are for only one area of business (like CRM). With WORKetc things can be completed at a much faster level because everything is a click away. To give you an example of this; once a lead is secured as a customer, it is then automatically converted into a project, quote, or invoice. This concept of easy automation is repeated throughout which truly makes it an efficient and simple business management software.

WORKetc is set to unleash a new set of project management tools sometime before 2011. What is commendable is that WORKetc have the faith in the product, respect for their users, but also lack of concern regarding their competitorsby keeping them pro-actively informed as to future developments with their CRM solution. Most vendors in our experience will not commit like this.
Conclusion
WORKetc helps avoid many of the problems faced by businesses using business management software today. WORKetc is extremely affordable, and easy to learn. The intuitive interface of WORKetc helps users get things done in an efficient manner, and yet is heavily customizable to fit the dynamic needs of every business. Having everything in one place brings a level of efficiency seen by few other applications. Definitely recommended for those looking to get a head start and avoid software problems. WORKetc is particularly suited to smaller businesses with a longer, complex sales cycle or project management aspect to their processes. WORKetc is the ideal CRM solution for engineering companies for example.
